WEBSITE MAINTENANCE

Keep Your Website Updated, Working & Ready for Customers

Ongoing website support for updates, backups, content changes, small fixes, performance, forms, ecommerce and the everyday technical work that keeps a business website healthy after launch.
Maintenance is not an unlimited redesign contract. Routine care and reasonable ongoing changes can be included, while major redesigns, large migrations and substantial new functionality are scoped separately.

Websites We Can Review

  • Business websites
  • WordPress websites
  • WooCommerce stores
  • Landing pages
  • Content / blog sites
  • Small ecommerce sites
  • Websites built by SiteLumo
  • Existing websites built elsewhere

What Website Maintenance Can Include

The final maintenance scope depends on the site. These are common responsibilities for a normal business website or small ecommerce store.

Updates & Compatibility

Keep WordPress core, themes, plugins or other website components current where appropriate and check for compatibility issues.

Backups

Maintain practical backup coverage so the site has a recovery path when something goes wrong.

Content Changes

Handle agreed text, image, page and routine content updates without rebuilding the whole website.

Small Fixes

Resolve broken links, layout issues, display problems and other reasonable website defects.

Forms & Enquiries

Check important contact, lead or project forms and fix common delivery or configuration problems.

Ecommerce Checks

Support normal WooCommerce/store issues such as product display, checkout configuration or routine store maintenance.

Performance Basics

Review caching, images, scripts, database overhead and other practical causes of slow pages.

Security Basics

Keep updates, SSL, access, backups and practical hardening under review.

Analytics & Tracking

Maintain agreed analytics or basic tracking connections when they are part of the supported site.

Why Websites Need Ongoing Care

A website can look unchanged from the outside while its software, integrations and business requirements keep moving underneath.

Updates Can Break Things

Plugins, themes, page builders and integrations can change even when you have not changed the website yourself.

Forms Can Stop Delivering

Email configuration, spam filtering or third-party services can cause enquiries to fail silently.

Stores Keep Changing

Products, payments, shipping, taxes and WooCommerce extensions need ongoing attention as the business evolves.

Sites Accumulate Weight

Large images, unused plugins, scripts and database growth can gradually reduce performance.

Business Content Changes

Services, staff, contact details, policies and offers do not stay frozen forever.

Security Is Ongoing

A secure-enough setup today still needs updates, access control and backups tomorrow.

WordPress & WooCommerce Maintenance

SiteLumo can maintain normal WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores, including plugin/theme updates, page-builder compatibility, forms, routine content changes and common ecommerce maintenance.
  • WordPress core updates
  • Plugin / theme updates
  • Elementor or builder compatibility
  • Form checks
  • WooCommerce maintenance
  • Backup / recovery setup
  • Basic performance review
  • Routine content changes

Not Every Plugin Should Be Kept Forever

An overloaded site with duplicate plugins, abandoned extensions or conflicting tools can become harder to maintain over time.
When appropriate, we may recommend removing unnecessary dependencies, replacing outdated components or simplifying the stack instead of continually patching the same problems.

Maintenance vs. a New Project

A maintenance relationship should be flexible enough for normal ongoing work, but clear enough that a major new project is not hidden inside routine support.

Normally Maintenance

  • Updates
  • Backups
  • Small content changes
  • Minor layout fixes
  • Form troubleshooting
  • Routine product updates
  • Small configuration changes
  • Basic performance cleanup

Usually Separate Scope

  • Full redesign
  • New ecommerce build
  • Large migration
  • Membership system
  • Complex booking
  • Custom calculators / apps
  • Major multilingual expansion
  • Large custom integrations

Website Built by SiteLumo?

Maintenance can continue after the original website project, giving you one place for routine changes, fixes, updates and technical follow-up.
The ongoing arrangement can be smaller or broader depending on how often the business expects to need changes.

Website Built Somewhere Else?

We can often take over an existing site after review. We first check the platform, hosting access, theme, page builder, plugins, current condition and known issues before confirming long-term support.
A badly outdated or compromised site may need repair, cleanup or rebuild before normal maintenance becomes practical.

Hosting & Performance Can Be Part of the Picture

A slow or unreliable website is not always a design problem. Hosting limits, caching, images, scripts, database size, DNS or third-party services may be involved.

Need Deeper Hosting Support?

For migrations, hosting changes, performance work, SSL, backups or broader infrastructure support, use the dedicated Hosting, Performance & Security service.

What Determines the Website Maintenance Quote?

Pricing depends on the site, its current condition, expected change volume and how much ongoing responsibility you want SiteLumo to take.

Website Type

A brochure site, WordPress business site and WooCommerce store have different maintenance needs.

Current Condition

A stable site is easier to support than one with old plugins, conflicts, malware or broken configuration.

Update Frequency

Occasional changes and regular weekly content or product work are different workloads.

Ecommerce Complexity

Payments, shipping, tax, subscriptions and store extensions can increase support responsibility.

Hosting & Access

Hosting quality, admin access, DNS, email and backup access affect what can be maintained.

Response Expectations

Routine maintenance and urgent same-day business-critical support should not be treated as the same service level.

We Review Existing Sites Before Taking Responsibility

For websites built elsewhere, a short technical review may be needed before we confirm ongoing support. This prevents promising routine maintenance for a site that actually needs repair or cleanup first.

A Written-First Website Maintenance Workflow

Change requests, screenshots, error messages, URLs, access details, progress updates and approvals can all be handled asynchronously in writing. Meetings are optional.
01

Share the Website

Send the URL, platform details and the type of maintenance you need.
02

Review the Current State

We check the relevant site, plugins, hosting access, ecommerce setup and known issues.
03

Define the Maintenance Scope

We confirm what ongoing work is included, what is separate and how requests will be handled.
04

Maintain & Update

Routine changes, fixes and agreed maintenance are handled through the written support process.
05

Adjust as the Site Changes

If the website grows or the workload changes, the maintenance scope can be updated instead of remaining unrealistic.

Website Maintenance Questions

Do you only maintain WordPress websites?

No. WordPress and WooCommerce are common maintenance platforms for SiteLumo, but other websites may also be supportable after review.

Can you maintain a website you did not build?

Often yes. We review the current platform, hosting, plugins, theme/builder and existing problems before confirming ongoing support.

Does maintenance include content changes?

Reasonable ongoing content changes can be included depending on the maintenance scope and expected workload.

Does maintenance include unlimited redesign work?

No. A full redesign, major new functionality or large structural change is normally separate project scope.

Can you maintain WooCommerce stores?

Yes. Normal WooCommerce maintenance, product/content changes and common store issues can be supported. More complex ecommerce functionality may require separate scope.

Can you fix a broken website without taking a monthly plan?

Yes. For one-time problems, use Fixes & Troubleshooting instead of an ongoing maintenance arrangement.

Do you handle backups and updates?

Yes, where included in the maintenance scope and technically appropriate for the site.

Can you improve website speed?

Basic performance work can be part of maintenance. Larger hosting, infrastructure or performance projects may use the Hosting, Performance & Security service.

Do we need meetings?

No. SiteLumo uses a written-first maintenance process. Screenshots, URLs and written change requests are usually enough.

What should I send for a quote?

Send the website URL, platform if known, hosting/provider information if available, current problems, how often you expect changes and what kind of ongoing help you want.

Need Someone to Look After Your Website?

Send us the website, explain what you want maintained and tell us whether you need occasional help or ongoing support. We’ll reply in writing with the next questions needed to define the maintenance scope.
