WEBSITE REDESIGN
Turn an Outdated Website Into a Stronger Business Asset
A redesign is not just a new color palette. We review what is already working, what is getting in the way, and what should be rebuilt, reorganised or retained so the new site is clearer, faster to use and easier to grow.
Redesign pricing is custom. The scope depends on the size of the existing site, content condition, platform, migration work, features and how much of the current website should be preserved.
Redesign Scope
- Visual and layout refresh
- Navigation and structure improvements
- Responsive/mobile improvements
- Content cleanup and reorganisation
- Platform or builder changes where appropriate
- SEO-safe URL planning where needed
- Forms, integrations and functionality review
- Launch and migration planning
When Is a Redesign Worth Considering?
A redesign makes sense when the current website still has useful business value, but the structure, presentation or technical setup is holding it back.
Outdated Visual Design
The site no longer reflects the quality or direction of the business.
Poor Mobile Experience
Pages are difficult to use or read on phones and tablets.
Confusing Navigation
Visitors struggle to understand the business or find important information.
Weak Conversion Paths
Forms, calls to action or enquiry routes are hidden, inconsistent or unclear.
Slow or Bloated Build
The site has accumulated unnecessary plugins, scripts, assets or layout complexity.
Hard to Maintain
Routine updates are risky, confusing or dependent on fragile custom work.
What We Review Before Rebuilding
The goal is to avoid throwing away useful work or carrying old problems into a new design. We first identify what should stay, what should change and what needs special care.
Existing Pages
Which pages are useful, outdated, duplicated, thin or missing.
Content Quality
What should be kept, rewritten, reorganised or removed.
Navigation
Whether the current menu and information hierarchy match how customers actually browse.
Responsive Layout
Where mobile or tablet layouts are breaking down or becoming difficult to use.
Forms & CTAs
Whether visitors have a clear route to enquire, buy, book or contact the business.
SEO & URLs
Which URLs may need to remain stable, redirect or be mapped carefully during the rebuild.
Performance
Large assets, unnecessary scripts, plugin load and other obvious sources of friction.
Platform & Builder
Whether the current platform can support the new direction or if migration makes more sense.
Integrations
Forms, analytics, email, ecommerce, CRM and other connections that need to survive the redesign.
What Can Often Be Kept
A redesign does not automatically mean rebuilding every asset from zero. Useful parts of the existing website may be retained or adapted.
- Strong existing copy
- Brand assets
- Useful images
- High-value pages
- Working forms or integrations
- Important indexed URLs
- Existing products or content
What Often Needs Reworking
The parts causing confusion, poor usability or technical friction are usually where the redesign creates the most value.
- Navigation and page hierarchy
- Old layout patterns
- Weak mobile design
- Inconsistent typography and spacing
- Unclear calls to action
- Bloated or fragile builder structures
- Outdated service information
A Redesign Should Not Ignore Existing SEO Value
If the existing website already has indexed pages, backlinks, search traffic or established URLs, changing the structure carelessly can create avoidable problems.
Where relevant, we identify important existing URLs and plan redirects or URL continuity as part of the redesign scope.
Migration Needs Depend on the Site
A simple same-platform redesign may require very little migration. Moving between builders, WordPress installations, hosts or ecommerce platforms can involve substantially more work.
Large content libraries, product catalogs, multilingual data or complex integrations are quoted according to the real migration workload.
A Redesign Can Mean Different Things
Some projects need a controlled refresh. Others need a full rebuild. The quote is based on what the website actually requires, not a generic redesign label.
Visual Refresh
Keep the general website structure but modernise layout, typography, spacing and component styling.
Structural Redesign
Reorganise navigation, pages and content hierarchy while reusing worthwhile content.
Full Rebuild
Recreate the website on a cleaner or more suitable technical foundation when the existing build is too limiting.
What Determines the Redesign Quote?
Redesigns are quoted because two websites with the same page count can require completely different amounts of work.
Site Size
Number and complexity of meaningful pages, templates and content types.
Platform
WordPress, Shopify, custom code, page builders and the condition of the current setup.
Content Migration
Amount of copy, media, products, posts or other data that must be transferred or cleaned.
Custom Functionality
Bookings, membership, ecommerce, calculators, portals, integrations or other non-standard features.
SEO Migration
Redirect mapping, URL preservation and other migration work needed to protect important existing pages.
Design Complexity
How much of the new interface needs unique custom layout and component work.

Website Redesign Questions
How much does a website redesign cost?
There is no single fixed redesign price because the workload depends on the existing platform, site size, content, migration, functionality and how much should be preserved. We provide a quote after reviewing the current site.
Can you keep my existing content?
Yes, useful copy, images, products and other content can often be retained. We identify what is worth keeping and what would benefit from cleanup or restructuring.
Will you keep my existing URLs?
Important existing URLs can often be retained where appropriate. If URLs need to change, redirect planning may be included in the redesign scope.
Can you redesign without changing platforms?
Often yes. If the current platform is suitable, the redesign may stay on it. If the existing setup is too limiting or fragile, we may recommend migration.
Can you move my site to WordPress?
Potentially. The migration scope depends on the current platform, content and functionality. We quote the migration work based on the real site.
Can you redesign an ecommerce website?
Yes, but ecommerce redesigns can involve products, checkout, customer data, payment systems, shipping and integrations, so they are scoped separately.
Do you rewrite all of the content?
We can reorganise and reuse the content you provide, but a full professional copywriting engagement is not automatically included unless quoted.
Do we need meetings?
No. The normal SiteLumo workflow is written-first. Existing-site links, screenshots, comments and written approvals can handle most redesign projects.
What should I send for a quote?
Send the current website URL, what you dislike about it, what you want to improve, examples you like and any special functionality or migration requirements you already know about.
Ready to Improve Your Existing Website?
Send us the current website and tell us what is not working. We’ll review the project and reply in writing with the next step or the information needed for a proper quote.
